The Dental Depot Qld Guarantee

Please note that DDQ is now offering a limited 5 year labour and 5 year parts warranty on all A-dec equipment.

The labour portion of the warranty is provisional on having your equipment serviced annually by DDQ and excludes callout fees.

Naturally it does not cover faults caused through operator error, however we provide a complete handover and training session to minimise the risk of this happening.

We are also happy to provide additional training for new staff or re-train existing staff free of charge during the life of the equipment.

This is all part of the service philosophy of DDQ; we service what we sell. With over $300,000 of spare and repair parts in our workshop right here in Brisbane, and five full time in-house repairers you can be assured of prompt, professional after sales service.

DDQ is the only company that backs A-dec’s 5–year parts warranty with our own 5-year labour warranty as standard and our repairers are the only fully dedicated A-dec technicians in Queensland.

Purchasing through DDQ also entitles you to free use of our extensive range of loan equipment if yours should fail during the warranty period.

Did you know...
Dental Depot is fully accredited to cover your dental X-ray compliance needs.

We use state-of-the-art radiation detection equipment to provide accurate testing with a minimum of disruption to your practice whilst adhering strictly to the Queensland Health Radiation Safety Standard HR005:2004. Customers will receive a copy of the assessment report and if requested a Certificate of Compliance along with a copy of the test results.

NSW customers receive EPA forms (you are required to forward this paperwork to the NSW EPA), a copy of the test results and if requested, a Certificate of Compliance. Our NSW testing strictly follows the requirements of the NSW EPA Radiation Guideline 6.

Dental Depot offers this service at the low rate of just $275 * per intra-oral x-ray (OPG’s are also covered in NSW). For those who purchase an intra-oral x-ray directly from us, you can receive the obligatory compliance test for just $200 . Don’t forget a current dental x-ray assessment is compulsory in QLD and NSW.

So, if you’re in doubt about whether your X-ray equipment complies, give us a call and we’ll make sure of your peace of mind. So if you have any questions regarding x-ray compliance testing, please call and our friendly accredited radiation expert will be happy to answer your queries.

What is VALIDATION? ? ? ? ?

We have noticed a steady increase amongst our customers in their level of interest and concern about autoclaves and the sterilization process especially since the release of the new Australian Standard AS/NZS 4815:2006.

Dental Depot provides a number of services designed to make compliance with the standard easier, and Validation is one area we specialise in. Validation consists of Commissioning and Performance Qualification. Commissioning comprises Installation Qualification and Operational Qualification. Performance Qualification consists of Physical Qualification and Microbiological Qualification.

When a customer buys a new Lisa autoclave, Dental Depot provides in-house testing and documentation so that the customer can comply with the standard with minimal additional testing. The first tasks undertaken include confirming the software is the latest version, and setting the user details in the autoclave memory such as user name, date and time, preferences, etc.Next step is to perform a vacuum

test with an empty chamber and confirm operation of the leak rate detector. We then conduct a heat distribution study to identify any “cold spots” within the chamber.

This study is performed with an empty chamber using 3 x temperature and 1 x pressure data loggers. This demonstrates one of the advantages we have over a lot of our competitors; our system uses wireless data loggers. This means we do not have to compromise the integrity of the chamber to record the cycle data.

This is important with all sterilizers but especially so with Class B sterilizers that are required to operate under both vacuum and pressure. The heat distribution study along with the manufacturers’ documents forms one of the requirements of the standard and is included in the handover folder which we provide at installation.

Also included in your handover folder are the Installation and Operational Qualification Reports, a Service & Modification Sheet, Warranty card, User Manual, Works Test Reports, Conformance Documents, etc.

A full training session is included during installation and we recommend all staff who will use the autoclave attend this session.Performance Qualification (PQ) can only be conducted in the customers premises and we are happy to offer this service for $440 (inc GST).

PQ takes about 3 hours to complete and requires input from the customer into establishing and recording the most difficult to sterilize load that the practice will process and the acceptable load configuration.

Once this is done then the penetration time(s) can be established along with physical qualification and microbiological lethality.

When completed, you will be provided with a
Performance Qualification Report and Validation Certificate.

Calibration certificates for the data loggers used to perform the Physical Qualification are also provided.Performance Requalification needs to be performed whenever product, packaging or loading patterns change, or if parameters are not within previously established limits.

It should also be performed at least annually if none of the above events has occurred. One aspect that is often overlooked by surgeries; is when your autoclave is removed for repair or service and a loan unit is installed (which will not be validated) then a Class 5 or 6 indicator shall be used in every pack or a Process Challenge Device (PCD – such as Helix Test) used in every load.
